Join our agile team as a senior Tech Lead to work on strategic initiatives in our Macquarie Technology team. You will help us to realise our vision to become a fully automated, self-service infrastructure provider, focused on excellent customer outcomes.

You will be leading a development squad responsible for developing the new way Macquarie sources, tests, presents and automatically manages our technology risk controls.

Your responsibilities will include solution designs for scale in a fully automated public cloud based microservices and microportal environment. Your solutions will involve building data pipelines, test engines and scoring methodologies, presentation templates and automation APIs to correct technology risks for the organisation. Additional responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining your application architecture, coaching and mentoring your squad and working with senior stakeholders to improve Macquarie risk management.

You will have an Agile mindset and keen interest in DevOps engineering across a range of technologies, while showcasing strong communication skills and be a self-motivated team player.

In this role, you will have experience in:

  • Cloud technologies and architecture patterns (AWS)
  • Data pipeline architectures (ETL) real-time
  • continuous deployment and delivery (CI/CD) tools, Bamboo, ArgoCD
  • experience with Source Control (Bitbucket, GIT, SVN, Stash) and SDLC tools (JIRA, GIT, Confluence)
  • well versed with Java Microservices and writing and code reviewing production ready code.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Ten or more years of industry development and DevOps experience in fully automated cloud-based CI/CD environments, preferably AWS
  • a true DevOps passion for automation and innovation and problem solving
  • a passion for developing fit for purpose solution designs
  • a passion for coaching and developing technology teams.

It would be a bonus if you bring:

  • software development skills in one of the following languages: Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, Python, Javascript or Golang
  • experience with logging and system monitoring tools, especially Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Google Analytics
  • service mesh technologies – OPA, Envoy, Istio.
